Sip & Scratch
• March 11th from 6 to 9pm • (1 day /3 hours) • March 25th from 6 to 9pm • (1 day /3 hours) $59 Join us for an engaging and creative workshop where you’ll explore the art of sgraffito in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Using pre-colored ceramic plates coated with black underglaze, participants will craft intricate designs and patterns to create their own unique keepsake. As part of this experience, wine will be provided by the Firehouse Art Center, and participants are welcome to make a donation for their beverage. All donations will go directly to support Firehouse Art Center. Non-alcoholic options will be available as well as hors d’oeuvres . What You’ll Learn: • Sgraffito Basics: Uncover the magic of sgraffito, a technique where layers of colored slip are scratched away to reveal the contrasting clay beneath. Whether you want to create your own unique design or use one of the provided designs, you’ll learn to craft detailed patterns and textures with ease. Your finished plate will be a testament to your artistic journey—and a wonderful keepsake to cherish! • Practical Application: Gain hands-on experience decorating a pre-colored ceramic plate coated with black underglaze, ready for sgraffito work. Who Should Attend: This workshop is perfect for adults who have an interest in ceramics or for those in need of a day off and want to try a fun, decorative technique.
