Hello and welcome to my page!
My name is Ana Balzán, and I am an acrylic painter and figurative sculptor based in Longmont, Colorado.
I enjoy painting Colorado's landscape, wildlife, and the various birds that live and visit the state, as well as portraits. I began painting abstracts in 2022. I enjoy the freedom of creating abstract paintings with tools other than brushes. My painting process begins on a hike, at my favorite hot spring, on a stroll, or while driving around the great state of Colorado. I take photographs that inspire my artistic eye and look beyond what I intend to paint. My second method is to combine photos on my computer and make them work. Once I've achieved the desired results, I begin the creative process on canvas.
My figurative sculptures are hand built with clay slabs... I achieve the desired results by molding, pushing, and adding clay.

If you want to meet with me, please contact me at anabalzan.design@gmail.com.
I will be volunteering at the Firehouse Art Center in Longmont, CO on the third Sunday of May (21st), the fourth Sunday of June (25th), and the fifth Sunday of July (30th) from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Looking forward to meeting you virtually or in person.

Sol 19- 4th annual exhibition & sale

Last night at Sol 19, there were a large number of people of all ages. I am grateful to Matt and Tam for providing a Zen and beautiful space for artists of all kinds to display and sell their art. I'd also like to thank my friends Susanilla and Nino, who have appreciated my work from the beginning.
To all the wonderful people who came by my space and felt deeply connected with my work, thank you. I had great conversations with Dana and Leah, and I hope they can make it to my future exhibitions. And, of course, I want to express my gratitude to my partner, who has been a great support and admirer of my work. He is so passionate about it that most times, he can explain it better than I can.
I was also pleased to have my younger son with me that night.

Longmont Artist Guild
Autumn Art Exhibition 2022

Great exhibition at The Great Frame Up - Longmont. We have new artists join the Longmont Artist Guild. It was a pleasure to exhibit with all my LAG artist friends. Thank you to all of you for coming and supporting local artists. Until next time.

My solo exhibition, Yey!
Inspirations and Commonalities of the Human Condition was my solo exhibition at The Firehouse Art Center. It stretched from June 10th to July 3rd. I had a meet and greet on June 25th and it was beautiful to meet a variety of great art loves. It was in the upstairs room of the Firehouse and unfortunately not very accessible. For those that could not assist, Vince made and edited a video for my exhibition that I hope you enjoy.

Summer Show & Sale 2022

June 8th - 12th
Thank you to all of you that had a chance to come and check the work of Longmont Artist Guild artists. I heard this show was a great success.  I, unfortunately, was not able to make it since I had a previous commitment. I missed a great show and an award for one of my paintings "Summer Fox at Flatirons".  I received 3rd place in the acrylic category.
Longmont Artist Guild was showcased in the Friday Magazine of the Daily Camara newspaper. In this article, staff writer Kalene McCort selected me as one of the artists to showcase the article.

Strawberry Festival Vintage &
Antique Market

We had a great turn out at the festival. Many great people came by, asked questions, and enjoyed the great art from eight Longmont Artist Guild artists, myself included : )

Summer Show & Sale 2021

My 1st exhibition with the Longmont Artist Guild was lots of fun. I had the opportunity to meet great artists and exhibit my work with them.
I am looking forward to more connections with the artist world.
I have to admit, I am very rusty but my partner, on the other hand, was out there sharing opinions and connecting during the exhibition. I love his enthusiasm and support very much! : )
On Saturday, June 12th the jury prizes were given to the different categories in the art show. I was surprised and excited that one of my pieces, Moo Day!, got 3rd place in the acrylics category.
