I was born and raised in Venezuela in a vibrant, creative family, where art and expression were part of everyday life. My artistic journey began as a teenager when I studied oil painting under the esteemed artist Mireya Power. Her mentorship helped me refine my skills and gave me the chance to participate in several exhibitions.

In 1989, I earned a technical degree in Graphic Design from the School of Design Villasmil de Leon in Caracas, Venezuela. Shortly after, I moved to Miami, Florida, where I continued my education in graphic design, enrolling in an intensive English program at FIU and later being accepted into the New World School of the Arts. Balancing my art courses with general studies at Miami Community College, I ultimately graduated with degrees in Graphic Design and Art Education.
Though I spent many years building my career as a graphic designer, founding Lighthouse Graphics and collaborating with other firms, my deepest passion has always been for the fine arts. Moving to Colorado in 2002 marked a turning point. Between 2005 and 2007, I welcomed my two sons, Gabriel and Sebastian—my greatest inspirations. Alongside raising them, I began shifting my focus from graphic design to fine art, ultimately rekindling my love for painting and clay work. |
I am a self-taught ceramic sculptor and approach clay with a fresh curiosity. Reigniting this passion in 2020, I began creating figurative sculptures through slab techniques, finding in this medium a powerful way to express stories and emotions. In 2023, I furthered my practice by attending a workshop with the renowned figurative sculptor Cristina Córdova, which profoundly inspired my work.
I am also an acrylic painter, drawing inspiration from Colorado’s diverse landscapes, wildlife, and the numerous bird species that inhabit or migrate through the state. My work often captures the region’s natural beauty, including its unique plants, animals, and scenic views. Recently, I have ventured into portrait painting, exploring a new layer of artistic expression through capturing human likeness and emotion. |
In recent years, I’ve become deeply involved in the local arts community, joining organizations like the Longmont Artists' Guild, Firehouse Art Center, and the Left Hand Artist Collective. Alongside my work as an elderly caregiver for the past 13 years, this engagement has grounded and enriched my artistic journey, pushing me to explore themes of resilience, identity, and connection.
In 2024, I began teaching ceramic workshops, where I guide participants to bring their creativity to life and embrace their unique voices in clay. My approach emphasizes safe practices, independence in the studio, and empowering each individual to create work that resonates personally. Thank you for visiting my site. I invite you to explore my gallery and leave a comment—I love connecting with those who appreciate the journey of art and expression. |
